The Church of Come Just As You Are By Bill Brown

The Church of Come Just As You Are By Bill Brown

You’ll find no cathedral with majestic spires that reach into the blue.

No bells to ring on a Sunday morn to summon me and you.

No awe inspiring stained-glass works to catch the noontime rays.

No padded pews, plush carpeting, nor golden cups and trays.

No limousines, no fashion queens, no aspiring movie star,

No fancy clothes, nor fiery prose at the Church Of Come Just As You Are.

You’ll find it in the piney woods, nestled amid the trees

The fragrant scent of God’s perfume carried on every breeze.

It looks like a barn; as well it should, for it was a barn before

It became a place to worship God, His mysteries to explore.

You’ll meet a lot of simple folk; they come from near and far

To praise the Lord in simple ways at the Church Of Come Just As You Are.

The pastor’s young and filled with hope, rejoicing in the Lord.

His voice rings out in joyful song, his faith in every chord.

The faithful join with bursting hearts, the hymns ring through the air.

Our God lives here among us; His message strong and fair,

Our lives are filled with grace each day, no matter who we are

Another lesson that we learn at the Church Of Come Just As You Are.

Some people call it the “Cowboy Church”, it really doesn’t matter.

Some say we serve the ‘blue jean culture’, the former or the latter

Are fine to describe our fellowship, we’re thankful heaven knows,

No matter what you call it, our church just grows and grows.

You’re welcome, so come find us, it isn’t very far.

Just follow the crowd with the t-shirts that read “The Church Of Come Just As You Are.”
