Many great rescue stories were happy endings, except for some, such as the one on Dennis. Despite their best efforts, he didn't make it, due to his body being so weak from anemia, and other issues. The people who had Dennis originally, failed him.
Thank you Hope For Paws for all the good that you have done, even when it is hard.

In Memory of Koda, the inspiration for the avatar for WolfCrane Says, and his older brother Solomon

In memory of Koda, the inspiration for the avatar for WolfCrane Says. He was recently diagnosed with Bone Cancer, which was spreading rapidly. He was 12 years old.
He went with his older adopted brother Solomon, who was 15, and had been suffering from dementia, and other multiple complications due to old age, and had quite possibly had a mild stroke recently.
Their adopted human parents were with them at the time of their passing.
Rest in peace you wonderful boys, and may you be running and playing happily now.

Georgia Animal Rescue and Defence, Inc. (GARD) is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located near Savannah, GA. GARD took in approximately 56 Poodle mix dogs from a puppy mill in Georgia in July, 2009, and 34 more dogs from the same puppy mill in August, 2009. The shelter needs your help financially to care for these dogs and recover from the expenses. Thank you for all you do for the animals, and please spay or neuter your pets! Please go to www.gardonline.org for more information.

Impounded Animal Detail

Species:DOG
Breed:CHOW / MIX
Animal Status:EUTHANIZED
Date Available:06/23/2008
Age Group:YOUNG ADULT 1-2
Gender:FEMALE
Spayed/Neutered:UNKNOWN
Animal ID: 92521

Let's find this dog a home! She looks so cute! I can imagine her waiting at the door when you come home from work.

*UPDATE* : This dog was euthanized, because no one wanted to adopt her. There are many other dogs ( and cats ) at this shelter, and other shelters like it, that are still available for adoption.

I do want to say that this shelter IS NOT a no-kill shelter. Which means they do have to put animals down eventually, if a home isn't found.

I would like to encourage everyone to visit the above web page, if you
are looking for a pet. There are some really great animals listed here
that need a home. If you don't see one that is available, look at the ones that are on "hold", and if you see one you like, let them know you are interested.
If the link doesn't work, go to:

and click on: Adoptable / Stray Animals on the left side of the web
page.
