I just took action to save children's lives, and I hope you will too.
Every week an average of two children die after being backed over by a vehicle, and another 50 are injured. What makes this so tragic is the technology is available to prevent these deaths, but the government doesnt require it.
Thousands of concerned parents are sending emails to Congress in support of S 1948 and HR 2230 that requires automakers ensure drivers can detect the presence of a person behind their vehicle. These bills, the Cameron Gulbransen Kids and Cars Safey Act, are named after a 2-year-old New York boy who was killed when his father, a pediatrician, accidentally backed over him.
